DE TELEGRAAF BUYS SWEDISH PUBLISHER

With effect from 1 January 1999, N.V. Holdingmaatschappij De Telegraaf will take over Svensk Special Press AB, a Stockholm-based publishing company. SSP AB will be added to De Telegraaf Tijdschriften Groep B.V.

In Sweden, SSP publishes two special-interest magazines in the field of sailing and motorboats. The company also publishes Golf Digest under licence.

SSP is a solidly profitable publisher with an annual turnover of NLG 9 million and around twenty employees.

To N.V. Holdingmaatschappij De Telegraaf, this takeover signals the first step outside the Dutch-speaking region. Preference for Sweden developed after research, showed the Swedish market to be similar in several ways to the Dutch market, for instance in terms of political stability and living standards.

TTG's assortment of magazines on the special-interest market offers scope for publication under licence by SSP on the Swedish market. Possibilities of publishing Swedish titles on the Dutch market will be further looked into.

The acquisition price will be paid cash.

The Works Council has given a positive opinion.
