De Telegraaf to take over BoHil Media

B.V. Dagblad De Telegraaf has acquired a 20% stake in BoHil Media B.V. with immediate effect and will increase this interest to 100% ownership within three years. Established in 1996, BoHil Media publishes the magazines ‘Boten’ and ‘Campers & Caravans’, including the corresponding websites ‘botentekoop.nl’ and ‘campercaravans.nl’. The publisher focuses on the commercial and private buying and selling markets of new and used boats, campers and caravans. These segments are part of areas in which the newspaper has been active – both editorially and commercially - for quite some time. The takeover of BoHil Media will enable De Telegraaf to launch new propositions on the corresponding advertising markets and further strengthen its position.

Mr F. Volmer, Commercial Director of Dagblad De Telegraaf: ‘BoHil Media is a young, sound and ambitious enterprise with ample growth potential. Furthermore, the acquisition has catapulted us to a strong position in two markets that are truly Dutch: the water sport and camping markets.’

Mr B.R.C. Hilberdink, Director and owner of BoHil Media B.V.: ‘With the Vaarkrant and  Reiskrant, De Telegraaf already has affinity with and know-how and experience in the markets served by BoHil Media. With this acquisition, De Telegraaf has increased its operational possibilities. To me, another important factor was that De Telegraaf group has a solid and reliable reputation and that I have so far liked the way they do things.’

Mr Hilberdink will continue to act as Director of BoHil Media. Established in Amsterdam, BoHil Media has 21 permanent employees. The acquisition of the 20% interest by De Telegraaf will not have any direct effect on the Bohil Media staff.
